Fresh Takata Recall - Installed backwards?
Statement by American Honda Regarding Passenger Airbag Inflator Kit Installation Error Recall - Recalls - Honda News
American Honda will voluntarily recall 492 Honda vehicles to inspect and, if needed, replace the passenger front airbag module assembly, for free. While performing recall replacements of Takata passenger airbag inflators, dealer technicians at several U.S. dealers may have installed replacement inflators incorrectly in these vehicles. If an airbag with an incorrectly-installed inflator deploys in a crash, the airbag may not inflate properly, increasing the risk of injury to passengers. No improper deployments or injuries have been reported related to this issue.

I'm surprised that the part design would allow a botched installation to be fitted in place, but given all that has transpired with this event, I guess we should have expected it. :-)
Just checked our VIN and our Fit doesn't appear to be one of the 492.

It kind of is idiot proof... Without going into too much detail, installing the airbags incorrectly is about like fitting a 2 inch square into a 2 inch circle or cylinder. Which is similar to something I seen in an episode of The Flintstones as a kid.
