Guy lights himself on Fire in Calgary!?

Anybody hear any news about a guy who lit himself on fire in front of the Harry Hayes building today?

My wife saw it and said it was very dramatic, there was a gas can and two separate fires, I assume the first fire being where he doused himself and the second... well it was him.

People rushed over to put him out and an ambulance showed up shortly after.

Was this a stunt or somebody actually lighting himself on fire!? And why?

It was probably part of some protest to something. I believe it was over in India they have this probably quite frequently.

Yeah, all day I was wondering what was up. I caught the news report when I got home and they had some more details. My wife said it was really terrible to watch, she had to turn away.

Apparently he was an Algerian who was upset he was being deported
