meter ticket question!

meter ticket question!
I got a ticket yesterday
Need someone's opinion to dispute it or not....
or someone has similiar experience please share
I was inside my FIT at that time when the meter guy walk by
I didn't see him or else I would run or put money in the meter
he just walk up to my car and hand me this ticket....
I thought the by-law states that if the driver is in the car, they have to let you know the meter expires and tell you to feed the meter.
This is what some of my friend say and encounter before
but I just can't find any information/documentation in the ministry of transport or ICBC to back me up.
so should I dispute it or just pay it?
thanks for you guys' advice

This is what exactly happened to me 5 months ago, meter guy came out from no where, gave me a ticket. Meter guy said no matter you in the car or not you need to pay cuz you parked at the meter spot. I ended up paying the ticket, i dont know dispute work or not. This is what i did, just to let you know. I guess next time i'll park where i can see the meter.

thanks FeiFei
I just read the back of the ticket, it states that for all dispute ticket,
if the result is not successful, then you have pay an extra $25 administration fee....
next time, I will stand right next to the meter and put $ in when it expires.

Most Vancouver meters have the option to phone in your payment, so you don't have to rush back to your car. Instructions are on the meter.
Also, you could choose to just ignore the tickets till you get towed. Course you'll pay the inflated price plus the tow.

Even he tag my car earlier, the meter still not expire......
that's why there is a BIG debate about this question.
I spoke to some of my friends and they all say its the driver's
responsibility to make sure the meter is fed
the ticket guy does not give a shit if you are inside the car or
going to put $$ in the meter
his job is to issue a ticket to you if he sees the meter expired.
no excuse.
some of them might give you a warning and tell you to put change in the meter but that is not always the case...
so its a racing game see who reach the meter first.
Unless there is a by-law states that they have to notify the driver if present before issuing a ticket.
