This SSM base FIT needs a home

I checked and today the base SSM FIT is prepped and ready for a quick sale this weekend.

Can't believe it's still here- ready for a good deal for the right person I guess.

I thought silver was a popular color.

I see the 07 CIVIC EX next to it going for $22,500 (on sale and marked down!)

ok, as you all know, we had an earthquake here yesterday.. Power was out all over the State. I drove to my parents house to see if everything was ok, and on my way back home; I turned by the Unocal 76 in Royal Kunia and saw a Nighthawk Black Fit Sport... What are you doing on the road? hahahaha!

Maybe there was nothing to do so...
Road trip! or just cruise around.

But it was raining and traffic was snarled in some areas- mostly near any eating places that were still getting any power.

There were huge standing lines outside every drive through fast food place I passed in the late afternoon.

Today I saw a red FIT Sport heading toward Wahiawa on the H2 freeway
PCW--- Safety sticker 5, Windward Honda plate frame.

It's nice to have our power back.

Today I was reading about our power outage. Two power turbines shut off due to the quake and that set off a chain reaction of shutdowns throughout the island.

Once the power station is offline it can take 12 hours to safely restart.
Luckily I'm in Mililani and didn't have as long before power was back- roughly 3pm.

People in town had to wait until 9pm to 12 midnight. Some were in high rises. Also someone said that emergency stairway lights are battery powered and rated for ONLY 90 minutes so once the power is off you might want to leave the building.

PCR--- with Safety Sticker 5. Another early buyer!

Soon we will have enough for a FIT event- Let's ask Honda.

I really like the looks of the white sport FIT. Brad, do you own a FIT on Oahu?

I tried in July but there was none to be had.

I could have waited 3 to 5 months and paid at least $2000 over MSRP but my wife wanted to replace our older car while my kids were home for the summer and we found a 2006 Civic Sedan at $100 under MSRP.

If I held out for a FIT I might still be looking. I have a friend who is looking at the 2008 FIT once his current car lease runs out.

Goodyear makes some really good tires but in Hawaii they are really expensive.

I kinda like Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 for very high performance.
195/50-15 $91 each at tirerack.com plus shipping but backordered
205/45-16 $128 each In stock
205/40-17 $128 each low stock

280 treadwear AA traction A temperature
V or W speed rated

Eagle F1 GS-D3... yep that be the one. I'm really looking for some for my "other" car, maybe in the not so distant future.

I've been driving around in a HOM Fit Sport AT in Indiana since last friday.
Leaving tomorrow but it's been fun. Tried out the highway and urban roads and took the car to Indianapolis yesterday. Got about 31 mpg overall for the daytrip.

Pretty easy to park, drive in traffic or on the highway.
Nice stereo for use with commerical CDs or with an IPOD.
Lots of room for up to 5 people with good legroom in back.
Lots of room in the trunk area.

Weather mostly good all weekend after lots of rain on friday. Highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.

Compared to the new Civic EX sedan I have - I'd say the Civic has more power and is more comfortable but not as fun to drive and doesn't have to storage for gear or passengers like the FIT does. Both have similar mpg for general use if both have Automatic transmission. I like the stereo in the FIT better than the Civic EX.

Brad,

Before you leave, check the bumpers for paint bubbling and do the "flip the wiper blades" to stop the chatter. Your daughter will thank you for it.

Enjoy... see you the weekend of TG. Have a safe flight back.

Only 600 miles on the odometer.
The bumper/fender join paint seems to be OK so far. Putting in the plastic 3/16" washers seems like a good idea.

Had lots of rain on friday and drove the FIT with no wiper noise so I wonder if the blades were different than others or newer or had been flipped already. Probably just newer. Will check them today.

It will take all of tuesday to return home. Leave the hotel before 4 am get to Honolulu about 12 hours later with a 5 hour time change.

Thanks for the tips.

You might want to flip the blades anyway.... takes about 5 minutes per side, if that long. I didn't have noise on mine when it was new, either, but the chattering started after a time and then got to be constant everytime I used the wipers up to the time I flipped them. Silence since then...

Ok, will do. It's on the list of stuff for today. Probably the rubber gets harder over time and with use then it doesn't work as well although others report changing to new wipers and it still is noisy.

Gotta get some winter driving stuff- shovel, ice scraper and brush, some emergency triangles, etc.
