Did you buy a Fit??
Post a picture if you did.

I'm seeing more Fits now- mostly in Honolulu.

I'm seeing more and more Fits but mostly in town, not so many on the Leeward side of the island and not so many on neighbor islands yet.

I'd say maybe one in 10 are modified, maybe less. Almost all are Fit Sports.

I never see them advertised in the newspaper.

I do notice that the Yaris and Versa are much more available and lower in price.

Any of the vendors on this site are OK since they all have to mail to us in Hawaii.

More Fits are showing up on the road in the last 6 months. Nothing great but it's better.

What mods did you have in mind? Want to take your Fit out to Aloha Stadium some time to autocross it?? Next dates are Oct 14 and Oct 21.

Certainly they (Versa and Yaris) are cheaper and sell many more than the FIT.

I'm seeing a few more around my area after a full year plus of selling the 2007 models.

I think the FIT is the more rare Honda in my State.

Today I spotted a nice Black Fit Sport AT with aftermarket 17" wheels and Falken Ze-512 205/40-17 tires in a parking lot in town.

Sorry to hear about that.

Which wheels and tires did you get?
Did you add TPMS to the aftermarket wheels?
Any problems?

I'm seeing more and more tidewater blue Fits on the road.

My kids sorta like the blue and red ones for being stand out colors.

I didn't have a choice of any blue or red when I was buying my Fit Sport.

How about a medium Dark Silver?

What about a sand metallic?

Smile Howzit!

i got my fit in late-october. i had my previous car (90 sentra se-r) for the past 16+ years and didn't do a single thing to it, modification-wise. i traded it in when i got my fit (wish i didn't). it was starting to occassionally slip out of 5th gear.

once i got my fit...i got bit by the mod-bug and added jdm visors, jdm armrests, supa sucka intake, tanabe touring axle-back, grounding kit, voltage stabilizer, and 16' enkei rpf1s this past x-mas. decided that's it!..pau!

actually, i'm planning to do some sound-deadening. then, that's it!...pau!

Paul,

Aloha and welcome to Fitfreak.net

Good to hear from you. I'm also in Mililani.

You could have kept the sentra Se-R and fixed the clutch. Did you have lots of miles on it? Fit has much more storage space and much better safety features. Se-R has many upgrade parts available, makes for good project car. Where did you trade it in?

Next sunday Sports car club of America Hawaii region, sponsors an autocross event (monthly) at Aloha Stadium. Bring your Fit and drive it or just come and watch. All day event and four heats with cars separated into different classes based on modifications. We run rain or shine.

see
Welcome to SCCA Hawaii Region Web
Stock classes and novice drivers are in Heat 4 at end of day. Registration can be either 7am or at 1130am (first come first served up to 30 drivers that are not already preregistered). $25 per event and $15 for weekend SCCA membership good for several events or get an annual membership.

You have modified your Fit so you aren't in stock class anymore, probably would be in Street Touring S if you have street tires rated 140 treadwear or more. Otherwise you are in F Street Prepared and can run R compound tires.

hi mini-fit! thanks for the welcome. sorry, you misread my post...its not paul. i meant i was "pau"..."finished" with my mods. i live down by the mililani tech park...by the oceanic cable offices. i saw 2 other fits in my area too--a ssm (like mine) & a tbm fit. seem like a lot more folks are getting fits.

i was quoted $1800+ to fix the clutch & spent a bunch of $ on repairs last year. it had 151k miles, a/c & radio wasn't working, plus the headliner material was sagging & was actually touch my head. the clutch was the last staw. yeah, thats another reason why i got my fit--to carry/haul stuff. the sentra wouldve been a great project car. thats what i thought after i got that mod bug for my fit. its probably better i didnt keep it--id probably spend too much $ on it. i traded it in @ tonygroup in waikele.

Oops, You're right about pau!

Many of the older cars at autocross are no longer in excellent shape. Some barely run while others have lost their interiors. You could fix the clutch and tear out the headliner and radio and A/C along with the rest of the insides to save weight. But then you'd be in a very competitive class.

This sunday is an event at the lower parking lot of the Aloha Stadium and Feb 16 is an all day practice session. I should have a Fit there to watch- come about midday to check it out. Same as yours Fit Sport with AT.

You can watch autocross for free minus $1 to park but you can go to the flea market at any time or get something to eat.

thanks, sounds interesting. 1 of these days ill definately check it out. im making a tiny effort to see if i can get my sentra back, but only if its not too much $. tonygroup had a pre-owned 2000 sentra listed for $6+. not mine though.

mini-fit...as u know, the drive home to mililani on h2 is one big incline...i feel my fit constantly trying to find the right gear. i recently tried flipping into s (paddle) mode right @ the h1/h2 split and the drive seems much more enjoyable & smooth. do u use the paddles?

Going uphill is always bad on mpg so I generally just go up about 55 mph.
Paddle shifters work and are fine to use but I generally don't bother except for autocrossing- then they will come in handy.

Tonygroup has the hammer sale nearly every weekend with some cars selling for $1 each. Not sure if your SE-R is even still there but you might find one in the classified ads or on craistlist.
