Huggins Honda/Harwood Tire (DFW, Texas)

I'll give HH credit for ultimately being right, but that's about all.

With 3400 miles on my Fit, I noticed a bubble on the sidewall of my RF tire. I called to ask if I could have it replaced; they said yes. I went right over. When I got there I asked if the tire was covered under the warranty. Dude said: "No." Now I am sure I read about a new tire warranty someplace, so rather than to just drive off, I dug through the glove compt and found a small manual, a Goodyear (Dunlop) pamphlet that said there was in fact a warranty. Dude took my pamphlet into the office, read it over with another guy and told me it wasn't covered. Maybe Goodyear (Dunlop) covers it, but they didn't.

So I drove off, and pulled over to the side of the road to re-read the pamphlet. I called the number in the back. Goodyear was awesome! They gave me directions to the nearest Goodyear dealer -- Harwood Tire. When I got there, those guys took care of me.

Goodyear told me that if the bubble was caused by a road hazard, that it would not be covered. With no scrapes on the tire or rim, I wondered how they would determine that. They wanted the dealer to take the tire off and look at the inside (for whatever reason). The Harwood Tire guys did good work, and pled my case over the phone to Goodyear. Cost me nothing to get the tire replaced, including mounting and balancing. Goodyear "paid" them through some kind of electronic system. It was an awesome, trouble-free process. I even tipped the guy.

Now, although Huggins Honda was right about the warranty legalities, does it seem that one business knows how to treat a customer, and one doesn't? They were awfully quick to send me out on the street when I had a problem. They could have called Goodyear, or Harwood tire, and had a much better image with me. If I do buy the '09, it won't be at Huggins Honda.

And I will buy Goodyear tires again. They stood up to their warranty. If you need tires please consider Harwood Tire in N. Richland Hills. Good treatment counts for a lot.

Go to Vandergriff Honda (in Arlington) instead. I communicate with everyone there, top to bottom/left and right, via e-mail – very quick and straightforward, though.
