That is a nightmare beyond proportions ! And it shows what the power of the internet can do ! Great ending !

 

I remember a similar situation years ago, but then it was found that the car fell into a grey area, neither the shop or car owner's insurance covered test drives.

I had a friend get a nicely restored Citroen DS Pallas back from the the shop about 20 years ago with a missing hubcap, many miles on the car and a friend calling the next day to state he saw it infront of a local strip-club?

Another friend did some work on an XKE. Told not to put the top down. He did anyway for the test drive. Customer picks up car. Customer comes back in 5. Customer speaks to manager. Manager speeks to tech (my friend). Discussions of the top beind down, my friend asks the owner to prove it. After seein the proof, my friend then has to clean the bird droppings off the passenger seat.
