DIY Automatic Car Start?
So I was in the local BJ's Wholesale Club and I notice they're selling a "do it yourself" Automatic Car Start kit for just under $50.00
Anyone install one before? Difficulty level? I guess the manual transmission owners need not apply on this one?
I had Best Buy install one in my 03 Nissan Xterra a couple of years ago and loved it in the winter!
Hey Lance, think we should give it a shot?!?!

I have a Viper car alarm sitting in box with remote start waiting to be installed. But from what i understand the DIY's still need the bypass for the key "chip" module and some other relays. IMO i think it'd be better just to let the pro's do it.

"eat $50 key" I thought mean that they take one of your keys with the chip in it and attach it somewhere inside the dash to make the computer "think" the key(chip) is in the car so you don't have to be there to start it... Therefore it disables one of the security features of our Fits. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Also I read in other threads that there may be a bypass device for the key-chip problem. But i'm sure we'll still spend almost $50 for that too. A dealer told me if i wanted to do the Remote-Starter just to order another key soon...

you could also use one of these.

i had the PKH2 in my accord and it was a breeze to install. and it still uses the immobilizer with loosing a key.
