Someone hit the Fit today...

Hot day at work, couldn't wait to get off. On my way to a race shop here in town called Slowmotion Race Shop. Sitting a stop light... Thank you kind sir in Ford pickup truck for not stopping until hitting my car. My Brand new, just got it in April, took me three effin months to get Honda fit. Again I Thank You excellent driver...
Sorry for the large pix.

Can't see them, but they are there, believe you me... scratches on front bumper. Hood with a nice dent, and the over all bumper is pushed foward, now making it not flush with the hood.

And now to the rear Bumper and Hatchback. You can see what was done here. Love the new paint job... Oh and my hatch doesn't shut all the way now.

Both left and ride side of said rear bumper have a nice upward slant. that'll add about 10 extra HP...

Again, sorry for the large pix.

Front not so bad. just some scratches and it has been pushed back about half inch. For the rear. Those pix don't do it any justice. The bumper is cracked in several places. The hatch has been dented in, which forced the frame inside to punctured the out side... and the hatch doesn't close completely, putting the door ajar light on.

Terrible. Where in Columbus did this happen?

I used to live there and saw more than my share of bad drivers and several cars wiped out, often with drivers with no insurance, including a friend of mine getting wiped out on his scooter most recently.

So get your check from the insurance co., get a jdm rear and CF hatch, get the front end fixed, and call it a day! Or chip in some extra money and get jdm front and rear.

In all seriousness, hope everything works out for you and the repairs are satisfactory. Good luck!

sorry to hear that, hope you get everything fixed ok with no problems. it's always a pain for me to deal with insurance and all that hassle after an accident, even when it's not your fault.

That really, really sucks. I'm crazy protective of mine right now (only had it a month or so) and already I've got a few minor paint chips and scratches which make me totally insane. I'm sure If this happened I'd have to be committed.

I hope everything gets taken care of to your satisfaction... not to mention quickly.

Cheers.

Ouch! Hope the insurance takes care of you quickly. Lots of BAD drivers here in Columbus. I see them every day on my commute in from Westerville.

My previous Jazz was involved in an accident at (no injuries and not my fault) a couple of year's ago with one of these:

This car is a 1997 Peugeot 106 (the actual car was red with black plastic bumpers and plastic wheel covers). The driver of the Peugeot pulled out in front of me from a side road on my right (remember I'm in England....) and hit the front wing (fender?) on my car. Because of the angle of the collision my Jazz ripped the Peugeot's bumper completely off and crumpled the Peugeot's hood. Although the Peugeot's lights were intact they didn't work!

I was traveling at 30mph, the Peugeot was traveling about 20mph.

Here's the damage to my Jazz:

Repairs:

New front bumper
New front wing
New alloy wheel
Reskin driver's door

Peugeot? Almost certainly scrapped I think.

My insurance company arranged to have it fixed at my local insurer-approved body shop. Turned out to be a Ford garage who took two weeks to fix it and didn't fit the new bumper on correctly - this is the gap between the headlight and the bumper after the repair:

When my Jazz was being repaired I had the use of a 2005 Vauxhall Aglia - nothing more than a Polish-built Suzuki Wagon R+ with a 'British' badge to convince elderly people they're being patriotic in buying British:

Terrible car....

When I told the garage I wasn't happy with the standard of repair I had to wait over a week before they could rectify the poor workmanship and lend me a car. They did eventually fix it properly and gave me a 2005 Ford Fiesta to use:

Not bad, but not as good as my Jazz!

I am sorry about your accident. I would vomit. I put a little scratch in my two week old vbp yesterday with my wedding ring and I cried!
