[I use motor or engine depending on what I've heard used in which context. But that's besides the point.]

Lets throw a monkey wrench in the mix and just switch to "PU"-propulsion unit and keep everybody happy! LOL!

I hope we chill out on spelling and grammar, since I see many "native" English speakers screwing up just as bad as us "foreigners"(me!)! I don't think that we should discourage anybody from contributing with their posts. To the contrary I think we benefit with cultural diversity.

With that said, I do not think that rep points should be asked for, begged for, traded first newborns for, ..... You get the picture!

Also I do not think that rep points should be awarded for frequent posting.
Some DIY write up's as well! Some are plain stupid!
I see many "living" on the forum, scoring points and can't find anything beneficial in their posts - period! To the contrary, many "facts" they bring are plain wrong!

That brings another issue - frustration on behalf of some members that catch those on. People just do not use search option at all. Sometimes the answer is in the topic just two lines below! Sometimes question is posted in entirely wrong section of the forum. Amazing how wide spread disease of lack of common sense is! And getting worst everywhere, not just this forum. ROFL!
I am guilty as charged, but I take a deep breath and walk it off instead of calling people on it and getting into arguments. For NOW!
Maybe that is bad since some wrong "facts" go unchallenged, but........

Why newbies can't show their appreciation for a good advice or help and make it count? Isn't that what this forum is all about? Helping less experienced through problems and let them learn something in the process.

Why we can't get e-mail notification when somebody rep's us? I rarely visit my User CP page. It is not needed for my ego to count rep points and beat other's score. That is not why I am on this site. I value some people's as well as my own 2 points more than some people's 6 or 8. Why some of you will ask? I just need to read the comments I received to make me feel good. Especially from "stuck" newbies that are that no longer. Quality over quantity is my moto. Same with number of posts.
I would just like to be able to drop a word of appreciation back to those individuals that rep'ed me promptly and not one or two months down the road like I just did few minutes ago.

Not all is "bad"! We deserve a big round of applause for this site as is. For all Admins, Mods, members,..... This forum is one of the friendliest, modest, informative places on the web. I think that has to do with the Fit itself. People that drive them have smallest egos! Love you guys!

Just my $0.02!

Ivan

p.s. feel free to correct me on my grammar. I do not mind improving my English while I am here. One less book to read! LOL!
