I am not sure exactly. You would have to check the youtube video description to see what it says. All you would have to do is disconnect the b-pipe and run it as long as the hangers line up -prolly why he did it like that.

Hmmmm... I think someone here needs to relax just a little. Yes I did post lots of times to get rep--this way the rep that I give would actually MEAN something.

I was a little shocked and embarrassed when I first started to give rep to folks for good things they posted on the site to find my rep was worth NOTHING. Here I am saying (and thinking) that I am giving something to them and it was zilch.

Not all of us have technical knowledge to give, or money coming our our arses to mod with, or are mechanically handy. Are we then to count for nothing??? Or even though it may not be YOUR sense of humor, can't some of us just help by giving some peeps a lil something to smile at once in a while to be our LOWLY contribution?

I like this site because it seems to be a non-elitist site where people of all levels seem to be enjoying both the cars, the friendship and the fun--we can appreciate all facets of the people who share a love for the same car.

Please let me know if I am way off base here.

BTW, I will accept the comment about being one of the kids on the board--makes me feel a lot better about just turning 40.

I must say you beat me to the punch on that one ^^^^ and you bring up a very interesting point. I find that many of the people who are helped by some posts/members are the very ones who cannot actually contribute to this idea of "reputation".

Lets not forget how incredibly subjective this "reputation" thing actually is. And how abuse is very subjective. I must say that this reputation thing if (and I believe it has to some degree) abused is luckily non abrassive for the most part. True we could all gang up and neg rep the crap out of someone for being a twit (luckily we are above that) but I think It has been severely blown out of proportion!!!!(rep by and large means very little) I think harrassment, spamming and name calling are far more pressing matters. <<<<That type of abuse seems to ruin things not frivolous accolades!

Lets also not forget the very tiny handfull of people trying to get rep for reps sake. Think about how many people are actually on this site!!!!!!!!
So in no way does it belittle someone elses efforts at getting it before this "supposed" "ruining" from this "off topic" thread.

Posting up good info just for reps sake is a really odd way of doing things, is anybody that desperate for little numbers by tiny green tic tacs? But lets say someone is....what would be the consequence?...Ahhh yes oh darn, GOOD INFO!!!
Or...oh darn, the ability to show heavy recognition to someone who does supposedly outright deserve it.
I don't believe I am one of the people who just asks for it, nor do I just give it out just so I can give out more(as anyone here can attest).
But even if I did whose to say I am not able to put that to use?

Its just another aspect of the site to enjoy.

BTW, if it was such an uber big deal in the first place, hmmm... then why on earth was it used very little and given little credence? Why on earth did this thread ever come about? My, my how quickly things change when info gets out. I guess its not as overly "exclusive" as some wanted it to be, but luckily now its recongnized as an option!

I have tried to bring this thread back on topic many times but honestly its a revolving subject, it waxes and wanes and has become a fun chatter box if you will. Luckily its in the appropriate section for that.

Gentlemen,
I have, many times, repped someone for just being nice or saying something funny. I take no issue with that. Frivolity is fine! It has just gotten out of hand on this thread, and consequently YES, it has cheapened the well-deserved points of some members, diluting them with buddy points.
It's a fact. But it doesn't matter too much to me anyhow, since this is the Internet, not a real place. Internet rep isn't actual reputation, I realize. I just think this thread has done more harm than good, and it saddens me a little.
Love to you all.

Heres the way i look at it.
Its a forum! Who really cares who has a high rep and who has a low rep, who cares who has alot of posts and who cares who has 1 post. We are all equal, and all here on FF.net to have fun and talk Fit. So if people want to have fun with the system so be it! Let them enjoy them selves!
Mean while there are still great DIYs being made, still great tech threads, still great general Fit info being put up everyday! So you, the member can decide if you want to rep for having a funny silly post, or for posting a huge informative DIY! You have options, use the rep system however it works for you!

You can't say that nobody cares about who has a high rep because you know that people who are new to the forum will see people with rep and assume that they are knowledgeable. And for the most part right now, it is true that those who have higher rep are knowledgable. But if people "abuse" the rep system by asking/begging for rep or giving rep thinking that it should be recipricated then it can cause some problems with misrepresenting their knowledge and possibly dropping the quality of the site. I don't find this vile, disgusting, or childish. And I think you can rep someone for whatever you want if you feel it deserves rep.

Don't beg! Don't give it out to get it back! Does that make sense?

Yeah noobs may look up to someone with a high rep, thats fine. Its natural and of course it will happen. But my post was directed toward the long time members who have voiced their rather strong opinions about the rep system. I think they should understand that high rep does not mean your a god. Neither does a high post count. The bottom line AGAIN is, ITS A FORUM! Just go with it lol. People will rep every post they see, and on the other hand some will rep one awesome DIY a year. Its 100% open to the member to decide what he/she thinks deserves rep. If people want to rep everything let them. You dont see them having a problem with the people who never rep

I don't want you to think that I oppose your thought process. I am just hoping to refine it, maybe. IT IS just a forum and I am very lighthearted on here (minus the rules thing that we had before, but I still like ya ). I truly don't see anything wrong with what we are doing except for the rep'ing and asking/expecting rep in return for the original rep. *My head is spinning after re-reading that*
