AT&T unlimited mobile-to-ANY-mobile

Just as Verizon finally got their iPhone, AT&T decided to launch a deal by adding mobile-to-any-mobile calling to their unlimited messaging plan. I supplied a link below to the FAQ. Basically, if you have a qualifying Indiviual or Family Plan, you can get this deal for the same price as just having Unlimited Messaging alone. If you already have Unlimited Messaging, either call AT&T or log-on to your account to change it. Since I myself already had unlimited messaging, this isn't costing me more money!

I realize this may very well start an AT&T vs Verizon arguement.

THANKS A LOT for that! As soon as I read your post I called AT&T and they switched it over for me.

No, they don't anymore. They changed their plans last year, and the only people that have unlimited data, which was $30/mo, are people that had it before the switch, so if they decided to switch data plans, they'll never be able to get unlimited data.

However, I like their new plans:
-200MB of data for $15/mo (Data Pro)
-2GB of data for $25/mo (Data Lite)

AT&T claims 98% of data users use less than 2GB/mo and 65% use less than 200MB/mo. Also, I should mention that WiFi does not count towards your monthly totals. I use WiFi at home, at Starbucks, and at work if I'm in range of it.

I do have an iPhone and I use less than 200MB per month. So, I gave up my unlimited data plan and switched to their Data Lite plan. I like saving $15 per month!!

My teenage neice, who is also on my family plan and has an iPhone, has data usage of less than 2GB per month, though she does text A LOT, for which I'm grateful for the unlimited text, which goes back to my OP about the Unlimited Messaging & Mobile-To-Any-Mobile.

I was worried and upset when I upgraded a while back and they told me its not unlimited anymore, but I had no choice so I opted for the 2gb plan and haven't changed my usage at all, I never even get up to using 75% of that 2gb. I thought I used a lot more than 2gb but it must have been in my head. I would assume people with rooted or jailbroken devices could easily go over that limit though. I have a friend with a rooted android phone and he downloads torrents and streams a lot of stuff, don't really understand why he doesn't just do it on his computer, but it really just comes down to what type of user you are.

I think that's what AT&T had in mind when they changed their data plans. I think they were going after the users that used tons of data and put a strain on their network.

A lot of people bitched about it when AT&T did the change, but there's nothing to be angry about at all. If only people knew how much data they used.

Agreed, I'll admit I was one of the ones who b*tched when I first found out, turns out it was just ignorant b*tching haha.
