Yeah, but I bought a CF hood and JDM tails that cost that much and I can just look at those. So for me, eh...I will use it more for work and I already had Cingular/ATT. It was just a matter of resigning the contract and adding $20 to my bill for unlimited data transfer. Not too shabby as I already had the unlimited data transfer for $20 on my old phone. So I broke even with the plan.

It's a pretty neat little gadget and does some cool things. It is expensive for a "toy" but it has some use to it...especially with e-mail and whatnot...I know I could have gotten another "smartphone" with those features for less but I am not in an upgrade period. Now Cingular has me hostage for years to come! Oh well. Works for me I suppose.

No way! If you're serious, any MAC store has plenty of them...I just walked right into Cingular and got one. They have a 4GB and 8GB phone....with $499 and $599 respectively. I wouldn't buy from anyone else other than those two shops. The rush is over and they are plenty stocked from what I know of.

And for anyone who cares, I did a little write up/review in my Blog here: Kris' Blog World

I am not a fan of the EDGE "high speed network". Takes forever to load pages with that shit.

ive been thinking in buying one. but probably off ebay since it says theyre unlocked and no contract is necesary. I already have like 23945 years everytime they throw an offer and a contract is necessary..im at the maximun number which i dont know which is though.
i bought a motorola rizr a couple months ago from ebay, and it worked pretty well and was unlocked too.

Be careful how the "unlocked" e-bay ones are. I didn't go that route just for the simple fact that when you activate the phone, there is an internal SIM card and you MUST ACTIVATE through iTunes. From there, it redirects you to your Cingular account to which you agree to another 2 years of service and add $20 to your plan for unlimited internet.

To me, it is a good deal because as I said, I am a "Cheer Dad". I take my daughter to cheerleading everyday and this kills the time. The comment about the EDGE network, if you have ever had a Smartphone from Cingular, unless you have a data plan you will get charged out the nose. I am not a fan of the Edge but it gets my e-mail to me just fine and I can surf what I surf just fine. The problem is whether or not you use the EDGE or WiFi, Cingular's smartphones and I would assume the iPhone has a built in proxy that you go through even connecting through WiFi so you get charged for the data transfer if you don't have a data plan. Google shows a few ways to bypass the proxy but I just chose to get the iPhone and $20/month isn't much considering how much I have used it this past week.
