that's great Glenn. i used exxon 93 and i think the blends/ additives this time of year are better than hot weather or cold weather gas. I'm going to fill up the Charger soon to take advantage of the mix. 1 burnout @ a time
Sounds like your Civic is going to keep the high mpg reputation going
is it an a/t or man.

My mpg has dropped on that tank but I had the lights on 50 percent of the time due to working later. The temps also dropped and I managed 41.6 mpg. Power is awesome and the last car I drove that came close to this car was the B16 that my son had with stage II cams. This car is surprising me at all turns power, mpg and handling. I think the traction control has something to do with power because the tires are not spinning like my old car and I am being pushed into the seat through the rpm and gear range. It has a auto trans. Honda needs to make a auto that can be shifted manually that will last.

Did you see the CRC report on benefits of higher octane? I wish the weather was not changing but I see a lifetime mpg of over 40 mpg and that makes me feel good.

Smile I'm feeing 44 mpg!

O man let me tell yall about the fuel injectors! The main duty injector was in ruff shape the 2nd one wasn't looking too bad for 185k miles. But I replaced both this week and what an improvement. It actually has a little something off the line now! lol. Both shipped thru Rock Auto Parts for 27.00 a piece

Have you hit 44 mpg yet? I have twice in my new car. Found all the sweet spots and even with the colder temps and me experimenting with gasolines. 91 r/m octane is where I hit the 44 mpg. So I have to blend the gas now, mixing regular with premium every other tank. Fuel trims are high and the EGR is high which I don't like but do like the mpg. Timing is weird too, it goes up a half a degree at a time to a point and then backs down a half a degree at a time to another point. It seems its writing a new map and until all conditions are covered its not moving on. The new Civics has the same ECU as in the Fits I think because there is no programer available and its been out a few years now. Engine sounds different from my old Civic too. My old Civic I could see the fuel trims and timing change more but this car is not broken in yet.

With the rain from Sandy I thought this would be a good test to see where the leaks in the foot wells are coming from. So Friday I taped the windshield and so far, high & dry! Soon as the waters part , off to Safelite for a new windshield.

It's crazy how cheap parts are for an older model car, ain't it Mikey?.. Parts for the 98 Eldorado I'm messing with cost a fraction of what the same for my Fit goes for, but even the prices on parts for it are dropping down a little. I am finding that Amazon.com is also a good place to find cheap parts.

Exclamation 4 quarters & 1 dime..........

Well all I have to say is God is Good!
Last night I installed the M.C. and was trying to bleed the system and couldn't?! So me & Bob check the obvious M.C. lines wheel cylinders which are new too. and found 4 quarters and a dime under the rear seat under the brake line. Remember your science class in high school and electrolysis? Well the brake line lost this battle. We are so blessed this blew out in the driveway instead of the interstate!
A buck $2.95, a thank-you pray and civvy will be better than ever.
Thanks for reading this EF thread, pic later this weekend.
Have a Great Weekend everyone !!
