Kinda off the direct subject, but the Fit has some of the best aftermarket support of any of the b-segment cars...The Yaris has a pretty good following, as do some others, but I spent all day just looking for aftermarket parts for the Versa and I couldnt find anything...except maybe an intake. But if I know anything, especially just coming from a Sentra SE-R Spec V, there will be QR25 swaps in no time...

You're saying that Fit owners will be swapping the QR25DE motor into their cars?

Based on your description, I think you should go to your local Mazda dealer and check out a Mazdaspeed 3. It will definitely give you MORE power than Si with 4 door and a hatch.[/QUOTE]

Are you trying to send me to the grave early? Do you know what's been happening to Mazdaspeed3s? Check these forums for Mazda under advance search for Title of Topic and you will know what I am talking about.

Well, it's not like a great majority of the MS3s suffers the same fate. If you really think your luck is "THAT" bad, well, you can always go for a Subaru WRX wagon (the remainder of the 2007 model) or a 4 door GTI.

Of course, regardless if it's the MS3, GTI, or WRX, they are going to cost MORE than a Honda Fit. At the same time, they aren't going to be as kind to your wallet at the gas pump. If money isn't an issue, you have a lot of other choices out there that would give you good interior space/utility with good performance to boot. There are also the Audi A3, BMW 328xi Sportswagon, Volvo V50 T5, and so forth.

By the way, it's really too bad that Ford screwed us out of the wonderful MKII Focus. If Ford offers the MKII Focus with the Turbo 5, I'd freaking get one.

No, I was saying their isnt much aftermarket support for the Versa, and I bet people will start swapping QR25DEs into them...

As for the MS3, every car has its issues...I doubt every car outta the factory has this issue. And who knows what kind of driving this person was doing...most likely some ricer fanboy out dropping the clutch at 6k...

yup those impressions are on target. no top end power, just peppy on the low end. good for around town driving.

i was surprised as well, when i was on the right lane which was ending, and had to merge to the left lane. I put the pedal to the floor, hear a lot of noise but the car wasn't moving any quicker?! so I realize now that the car has no reserve and have to drive it more conservatively and take into the account the little margin it has for acceleration.

You don't need to drive it more conservatively, you need to learn the powerband better that's all. Downshifting is your friend.
