Yeah man in that race, id put my money on the Fit.
I heard the Boxster isnt very fast, the S will move pretty good though.

Paddle shifting in the Fit is not as fun as driving a RWD Boxster. What should I do?
You can buy a used 997 boxster for 16k? You are trying to compare apples and oranges. If you want to spend money on a good mid engine RWD car look at a used Lotus Elise.

Who makes the motor in that car now, I know honda and toyota have in the past.
I guess I dont have a lot of experience driving fast cars. It was a Boxster S and did feel pretty quick. I didn't realize that the difference in weight would make up for the differnce in power?

The Elise comes with the I4 Toyota Celica motor just retuned and repackaged. I think the car puts 195HP at the crank and the car weighs just under 2000lbs.
Once you start getting more into performance you'll see that power to weight ratio is HUGE! Just for an example, my bike weighs 400lbs but has 114 RWHP... A honda civic can get 114 WHP w/ some bolt ons but it weighs about 7 times as much.

I understand the difference in weight makes a huge difference and Ive been guilty of stripping an interior trying to reduce as much as possible. A 400lb bike v/s a 2600lb civic is a little bit different than the 400lb that seperates the boxster and the Fit. I get your point but will that little weight difference compare in power?

The Elise loses at speed though, because what "little" HP it has is chewed up fighting wind drag and not much left for acceleration. But it is a very cool vehicle, don't get me wrong! Really, most people aren't zipping around at 100+ mph, so it's kinda moot I guess. I read the Elise is a pretty tough ride though.

A 200 hp Fit vs a 300 hp Boxster? I too don't see how 400 lbs less is going to help the Fit... just lend me a 200 hp Fit and I'll give you my opinions. :D

I was beginning to think I was crazy? The featured car this month should have something close to that right? We just need to get him to race a boxster S. Should be easier than finding another 200 hp Fit
