So at the end they broke down how much it would cost for the prius over 5 years and the Fit and the Fit wins. That would sell me.
Are you talking about the Prius battery? Because my wife's has a 120,000 mile warranty on all of the battery components, and we know people with well over 200,000 miles on their Prius, and the original battery is still working fine. The battery is designed to work over the lifetime of the car.

Yes i was talking about the prius. I was told by toyota that it has to be replaced at 100,000 mile. But the fit still won the challenge with it being overall cheaper to keep for 5-6 years than a prius. I mean yea i know some people who did not change there oil on there car to around 12,000 miles to. But i doubt every one is going that far with out changing it. Look at ur manual toyota told me that it has to be changed at that point and it was not cheap to replace it. But each there own i guess the prius was to much for me and it did not get that great of Mpg over the Fit and did not have the fell of the fit i liked. But GL with it

Good point. I guess when looking at total cost of ownership you should be considering whether this is a less than 5 years kind of car, or around 10 years kind of car

Yes prius would own the Fit if u were to own the car for 10 years. But if its only for 4-5 years than the fit beats most cars out there. I really whish i would have just saved a little bit more and bought a nice GTI or something nicer than the Fit. But when i look at how much the Fit costs me to maintain it and fill up at the pump i am glad i got the Fit. I really think this will be my first car that i will own for 4-6 years. I usally get a new car ever 2 years so far. But i am sick of spending that kind of money now
