Speaker Question

Hi there ppl, :wavey: First Post.

I've got a '09 TW AT Sport on order (500 deposit), can't wait! But I have to..:(

Anybody know what the specs are on the speakers in this car (or the '08 - I'm assuming they are the same)? Namely, Impedance and dimensions?

I've found that replacing the OEM spkrs with better ones significantly improved the sound on previous cars.. I had an Integra ( I think it was that car anyway) that had 2 ohm speakers, it was very hard (at the time at least) to find replacements..

I'm hoping the speaks on the Fit are standard 8 ohmers.

If they are the same as 08 replaced them ASAP. The speakers weigh about as much as a paper clip, really cheap crap.

Yeah, I'm not surprised. I see you're using Kappas. So that sorta answers my question... Do your Kappas sound good?

how easy is it to pop the interior of the door off on these cars? IIRC it wasn't too difficult to do on my 98 accord 4dr, but that car was a hand me down.

When I get the 09 fit, it'll be my first car and I definitely don't want to mess anything up. I would like to put in some decent speakers though.

What does it come w/anyways? 4 - 6 1/2" + 2 tweeters in the front?

Kappas sound real good, but if I were to do it again I would just go with the Reference line. Had Those in my truck and the Kappas dont really sound any better to me.

08 door panels are not hard, i've become a pro at removing them.

Thanks, I'll check those out as well. I am gonna wait 'til my '09 sport comes in, and check out those speakers and replace with upgrades. Replace the up-front tweeters (I think these are the extra 2 speakers in the Sport) and add a powered sub like a bazooka that I can remove if I need to haul a load..

I don't have an iPod yet but may get one. But being able to plug in a cheap thumb drive sort of obviates the need for an iPod...

Actually when I drive my current car (X3) I listen to ( ) silence. I suppose I'll crank the tunes in the Fit for a while tho..

Cheers!
