Car Accident Stories
Anyone want to share a car accident they've been in? I'm bored and I was reminded of mine a few minutes ago, so I'll share.
Back in 2002, I owned an automatic (never again) 1993 Accord LX. No mods. I was a senior in HS, had a parttime job for cigs, gas, videogames. Anyway I was leaving school parking lot, excited that I was about to graduate in a few weeks, also there was a dance dance revolution tournament that night at the mall. Needless to say I was high on life that day. I wanted more of a rush. I ended up behind a blue 99-00 Civic Si coupe. I wanted to be Mr. Badass so I crossed over the double-yellow line and sped up to get in front of him. He knew what was up then, so we both floored it down this straight road about 3/4 of a mile. I turned right at the stop sign, flooring it and he followed me. This road led to a downhill S-curve. By the time we hit that part, we were going a solid 70mph. My tires were not by any means full of life, and I didn't take care of that car much at all for some reason. I head right for the first part of the curve, but there was a car coming my way, and in order to not skid out, I needed to be on that side of the road to take advantage of the roadspace. Seemed like life threw a curveball in the form of an oncoming car. Life is weird like that. So to avoid hitting that car, I had to brake hard and turn right to stay in my lane on this downhill S. That sent me careening out of control, onto the curb, over some bricks that were lining a driveway, and straight into a tree at over 50, probably about 70mph. Airbag deployed, front window shattered, everything under the hood USELESS. I wasn't wearing a seatbelt. I should've died that day. I awoke feeling the burning airbag marks on my face, or maybe I hit the steering wheel. I felt like I blacked out for a few seconds. The Si behind me, was down the road upside down. He wore a seatbelt, and was able to get out and check on me. I couldn't move. I apologized. Ambulance came and I was put on a stretcher. Nobody got sued, but my parents probably paid a pretty penny for the hospital bills. I couldn't move side-to-side for 3 months, had to wear a hefty brace for my spine, I urinated blood in the hospital just one time. Those 3 months were hell, I never went to the ddr tournament. It ended up being very shitty for a while. Anyway that's my story, now someone share theirs!
