I kind of like the Soul. I'm not a big fan of Kia as well, but I think that you get a lot for your money with this vehicle. You can't beat the warranty either. I'm going to go take a look at it in the future. My wife's Xterra will be 10 years old this November, and we'll need a replacement in the next few years. I'm trying to talk her into a new Fit, but she likes the ride height of an SUV. Maybe the Soul will meet her ride height requirement and my mpg and cost requirement.

I like the Soul a lot. I've sat in a couple of them, but haven't driven one. I'd be willing to bet the one thing that I wouldn't like about it is the manual shifter feel. I really believe that Hyundai and Kia are on the up and up; they're building higher quality cars; better driving dynamics; etc. However, they still can't seem to make a manual transmission that doesn't feel like moving a broomstick through a barrel of superballs. Then again, a short shifter usually fixes that problem.

I drove a Soul Sport a couple weeks ago, and honestly, I'd be looking at that in the driveway instead of a Fit right now if the dealer hadn't pissed me off and insulted me on trade in value. It's a fun vehicle, lots of space, and tons of extras that would be aftermarket addons (both performance and cosmetic) on any other car (17's, sway bars, light up speakers, etc.).
I really think it's a winner.
