Since there's been a few threads/post about the headrest on the Fit, here's an interesting read on the issue. The issue in not isolated to the Fit or Hondas.

Safety and stupidity goes hand in hand these days... the NHTSA isn't doing anyone any favors.

Why not mandate recaro bucket style seats in all cars instead? Its kinda amazing how much they focus on stuff like airbags and stupid stuff like TPMS but can't get a headrest design right. Causing permanent neck/spine damage/discomfort due to bad headrest angle instead of death in an accident is a better option?

 

Heheh... TPMS, ESC, MMinders... all go back to the basics of car maintenance and Driver's Ed or lack of it... Yeah headrests used to actually be for resting your heads on but not anymore. They should be called whiplash protectors instead. The term headrest is now misleading and no longer applicable.
