Read my post... this is a known problem with the 2006-2008 R18 engines and should be covered under the special Honda extended warranty.

Contact Honda corp. and/or your local Honda dealer before you do anything.

there is a tsb for this (08-044), but i dont see any reference to an extended warrenty specifically to address the issue. actually, the tsb states any repairs out of warrenty are to be a goodwill from the dealer only, and not mandatory.

2006-2009 Warranty Extension for Engine blocks - Honda Civic Forum

Here is a thread about it, it's 8 years unlimited miles as it's been stated. Whoever owned your car before should have gotten a letter telling them of the extended warranty campaign. I hope you read this before you get this done so you don't have to pay for anything you don't need to!

I belive that Honda has extended the warranty to 8 years for this problem. Get in contact with Honda about a warranty repair.

Most shops should have a pressure tester, maybe just ask if they could test it real quick? Should take literally 10 seconds.
