GPS mounting

I want to mount my Garmin GPS and I dont like having it stick to the glass using that stupid suction cup....
I know this is kind of a personal taste ...
just wondering how other people mount their Garmin or TomTom GPS in the FIT....
where and how???
what hardware to use etc...

You should check out this thread for a bunch of ideas: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gene...-your-gps.html

Here's my solution, which works pretty well IMHO:

I used the ProClip "A" pillar mount for a while, but did not like having to switch my view away from the windshield. Any top-dash mount works better for safety than a side-mount holder.

Here's mine. I used the the round disk applied to the bottom of the cupholder for a secure fit from the suction cup:

I used a Garmin gooseneck mount and formed it to face the GPS in a convenient viewing position:

I also mounted mine in the cup holder via the suction mount- it would stay for months, then would sporadically lose it's suction and the GPS would fall. Got tired of remounting it and eventually bought a cup holder mount I found in the auto section at Walmart which does the trick and the GPS never falls over.

thinking about the same. Like how you can store the wire in the base and take the whole thing with you when you need to.
