So I went to the dealership last night...

I went to the local honda dealership last night to see if they even had a fit in to look at or anything and apparently they are already sold before they get on the show floor... but i did get a chance to look at a sold Civic SI as well and now im not sure which one i want ha ha ha. I really like them both, and i really want a honda product for my next vehicle, so its all back and forth for me.

although i did get my name in for contact as soon as they get an avalibility for a fit there ;)

thanks, yea i'm thinking about maybe even just getting both of them... who knows... I want to get the fit to replace my 1994 dodge caravan that i use for moving all my stuff in. that would be a NICE change.

I also have a 1994 Infiniti G20 (sr20de motor and LSD) so it would just be an upgrade in power mostly if i got an SI to replace that...

I was also looking at the Civic but the test drive really sold me on the Fit. The Civic seemed more cramped than the Fit, my poor grandma in the backseat had to sit sideways, my leg was hitting the drivers side door, the pedals were very sensitive and I personally didn't like the steep incline of the front...but to each their own. I say make some phone calls, find a dealer that has a Fit and test drive them both.

Ya the Fit I just purchased was about 30 mins off the truck and had not even been approved by a tech for a test drive so I had to drive it on the lot.

Just got my fit yesterday and love it. but I have to say if I didn't have an RSX as a weekend toy I would probably choose the SI.

Your still going to get decent MPG numbers on the SI
but if you're really looking for a fuel effecient 5dr with a ton of interior room the fit is great.

technically the premium gas in any car will get you better milage, better performance, and less wear and tear on your motor. thats why they suggest it.

Not all the time. The reason why it requires premium is because its recommended for optimal performance. I bet you can run regular in the Si and still get good mileage, probably more since you wont be on the gas as much due to being scared of detonation.

Sometimes premium can hurt performance. If the car is recommended to run on regular than run it. If you want to run premium a few times to give the motor a clean go for it.

Someone should do a test to see if premium on the Fit gains MPG, HP, and what not.

you're right, there is one case that i saw a car run better from crappy octane fuel... it was a first gen RX-7... it would knock with higher octane fuels.. but it would run way better on like 84 octane kind of funny actually...
