Slaloming Techniques

Does anyone have any links or good media (videos or reads) for slaloming?

How much experience do you have?

Do you have trouble with hitting cones or is your speed not so fast through the slalom?

Worst things to do in a slalom-
Enter the slalom too fast which leads to hitting the brakes to go around the second cone.
Coasting at any time.
Hitting the brakes because you are late on turning in (and around a cone).

The best things to do-
Look far ahead and turn in early (backside the cone) on the first cone
Stay early on each cone in the slalom to give you the greatest distance to the next cone and more time to prepare to turn in.
Keep a steady throttle or even increase speed a little
Pick the right way to turn on the first cone if given a choice to allow you to go into the next element with the optimal race line.
Never coast.

Backsiding a cone is taught in Evolution Driving School (you should find one and sign up). This simply means that you drive a line that allows you to be directly on the backside of each slalom or turn cone. This requires a little more angle of attack as you enter the slalom. If you are going too fast and don't select the right angle to turn in on then you will proceed past the cone and start to approach the next cone with less time to react or prepare. This leads to being LATE on the turn which may require you to hit the brakes or turn with even more an exaggerated angle and a longer racing line.

Think of driving a race line that is the shortest but fastest for a given slalom.
If the cones are evenly spaced (you can pace off the distance) then you can drive through it with even throttle, if the spacing is increasing then you can pick up speed and if the spacing is irregular you have to slow down enough to backside the cone before it gets tight.
