92 Octane 15.786@88.25mph

Car: 2015 Honda Fit LX CVT
Mods: Custom PRM Intake, 2" Muffler
Place: Cecil County Dragway 10/3/14
Temp: 66F - 68F

*Testing* 92 Octane

The car was consistently inconsistent tonight. Hard to guarantee that there would be benefits using 92 octane. I can say I have achieve my best 60ft times so far using it and that I have gotten my best 1/4 mile time with it as well. It just wasn't consistently hitting good numbers. Here are the results.

60ft 1/4 Mile Time
2.460 15.887@86.37mph
2.464 15.797@87.05mph
2.428 15.786@88.25mph
2.508 15.951@86.42mph
2.489 15.929@86.55mph

The car was getting better 60ft times and lower 1/4 mile times. Even getting faster mph wise then **Poof**, 4th run it took a dump. Air temp was at its coolest and I was letting the car cool down sufficiently. Not sure what the deal was. I have recorded all the runs so I'm going to upload the data and look to see if there was anything weird going on with ignition timing, rpm climbing, etc.

Was feeling good that 60ft times were approaching 2.3 range. Making much progress here. So...I have no definite conclusion on this.....yet. I'll be back to testing this at later date.

I drove the car on the highway coming home with the range reading '0' miles left. Drove an extra 5 miles than stopped by the gas station. Filled up with 6 gallons of 87 octane again.

This is all I can conclude from this test. More testing needed but it was looking promising. Perhaps I needed to fill up another 1/4 tank of 92 octane because my previous tank was only a mix. I never did reset the ECU or unhook the battery. It is what it is though. There you have it.

The saga continues! This car is steadily getting faster and we are only getting started. These Fits are fun! This low hp, eco friendly, direct injected earth-dreams and eco friendly CVT tranny is making this car run 1/4 mile numbers close to an Acura Integra GSR with minor mods. Awesome!

Edit: I added a video of my best (15.797@87.05mph) run since I record all of them. Note the 'Myxal Two-Step' (Gas pedal manipulation) allows the CVT to get to 6000rpm in 3 seconds. It works!

That's wonderful news! However it may probably take a couple tanks Goethe ecu to adapt to higher octanes and advance timing
