volume knob small?! LMAO i don't like the look of the radio because the volume knob is FREAKIN HUGE. But i had a AVIC D3 and the volume knob on it was about 1/3 the size of that one.

o0o0o0o please tell me there's an option to switch to a Female voice, preferably with an Australian or English accent.

Is it ok to assume that this will have no problems playing off a usb thumb drive? I refuse to buy any ipod-type products

The airbag light is relocated with the trim piece from the navi version. This is looking really clean and it's definitely something I need to do.. when I get some cash

well if i was you i would go with the AVIC F90P because the differnce in quality is a night and day. Do yourself a favor and save the extra 300 or whatever. because you don't have to pay 1000 or 1100 what ever people are trying to charge. And its just not worth it to jip yourself like that and go with the 4000. trust me i'm speaking from experience. Also check this

Or you can get the metra peices

Metra
Wiring harness - 70-1729
Antenna adapter - 40-HD10

However you still would need to ghetto rig the bracket until a better kit can be made by metra. Some are saying number 99-7898 metra kit works too. As a kit to hold the radios. Not real sure on it tho.

All GPS receivers use satellites. Here's a link to the spec sheet which may help answer your question: Pioneer USA - In-Dash Navigation

All GPS use satellites. That doesn't mean that they get the map data from the satellites.

Same answer....you won't find a GPS receiver that gets map data from satellites. May I suggest reading a brief description on the fundamentals of GPS which may help formulate your question?
HowStuffWorks "How GPS Receivers Work"

Flash memory is memory that can be electrically erased and reprogrammed. More information about this here:
Flash memory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The F90 stores map data on flash memory. This allows map data updates by simply overwriting these areas directly, as opposed to buying an expensive new DVD after years of development.
