Texas Fits, Anything goes thread
Looks pretty sweet man! I certainly am digging the Subaru. If I were to upgrade from the Fit to something with more power, I would definitely go that route.
Thanks!
It's so nice to look down and be like "whoops I'm going 80" rather than always feeling every mph that I'm pushing. The fit and s2k were both like that. I knew how fast I was going. Engine and road noise. And having to wring it out. It's a while new ball game.

I'll wait til after the break-in period, eh?
She's only got 300 miles on her :-)
I LOOOOOVE driving her though.
Only one complaint so far--the hatch takes two hands to close. I'll see if there is a solution, or more ergonomic way to do it but for now, two hands.
Interior is quiet, radio is neat and has bells/whistles.
Seats are comfy, engine has a nice grumble. Would LOVE an exhaust, but no mods for a year ;-)
Ready to take her on vacation and then hopefully an oil change not too long after that

I have an issue of Road&Track that has a comparison test of a car like yours ( white) and a 2012 Buick...The Subie would have totally smoked the Buick if it had as good tires and brakes.... It out performed the Buick going up a mountain road because the Buick over heated... At the same place where the Buick had to pull over to let the engine cool the Subie had to pull over to let the brakes cool down... It's fortunate that you don't live in an area with mountains and drive like a guy driving a car he doesn't own.
Yeah, I don't plan on doing much to her anyways--even after the year.
I'm thinking a catback exhaust, maybe even the subaru one and that'd probably be it except for little interior mods, etc.
I don't want to do suspension on this car. It rides too dang nice as it is.
Wheels and tires, meh. The wheels on the car look awesome and I'll just upgrade tires when I run these through the ringer.
I'm really enjoying the car so far. We are taking it on our trip to San Antonio, so that will be nice. It's almost been 3 days since the window tint--so I can clean the inside of the windows soon. That'll be nice. I may wash and wax her if I have time next week in the afternoons...did just the hood yesterday and it's glass smooth. So nice! Want to keep this paint protected ya know?
The Fit is still doing good as Kim's DD. I think it has 43K on it now. She drives about 2K a month, so it'll be racked up quick but the plan is to pay it off in 2 yrs, and then give it to the youngin' another year after that. Hopefully we will have saved up enough in that year of no payments to buy her a really nice commuter. Maybe one of those Lexus hybrid wagons
Anywhoooo. I may end up getting an STi later in life but for now, the wrx was what I could afford, available and it really is nice. Wish it had HIDs but other than that, no regrets!

You have a great car. A tire upgrade would be about all I'd do.. The article in Road&Track stated that it lost out on braking against the new Buick on the skid pad and braking because of the tires... The Buick's were larger and better suited to win out over the ones the Subie had.
Roll call BUMP!

I've got a question guys. This likely belongs on the Care board but I figure I would see if any of our Texas people know first.
I waxed my car a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time I had ever waxed and frankly I had no idea what I was doing.
So I got the wax on, swirled it around and stuff and failed to realize that it needed to be wiped down with a microfiber cloth before letting it dry. So now I have all these swirl marks all over my car.
How do I get the swirls out so I can get a good coat of wax on the car?
