How many fit owners in Austin? What kind of mods do you guys have?

 

There are at least three, including me.

My mods are light and stock looking, but I've done something to improve on each area of the car (engine, appearance, interior, lighting.) The 8th gen civic guys have a meet regularly and we have been invited to join them if anyone is interested.

I hope to get wheels, tires, tint, Swift springs, window visors, side moldings and a cargo mat very soon. That's about it! I live out north off Metric Blvd., but commute to 4th St downtown daily. One night just before I got my Fit I saw a huge Import gathering at the BestBuy parking lot at N183 and Capitol of Tx Hwy - haven't gone back yet, I'm 45 and kind of a homebody in the evenings...

 

I hear ya. I can hardly imagine myself going back to the good 'ole days of standing around and talking cars with a bunch of strangers, but we should do a mini-gtg sometime when the weather is pretty, like in the Fall. I'm 30 and still have some juice left in me. Been rolling the windows down and playing loud music lately, though. The Fit does it to me. haha

 

Sounds great - and I've been prone to cranking up the jams in mine, too.
(I'm a young-acting 45, or so I've been told...)

 

im in san antonio closer to austin than most of the other fit owners around here. i also have 2 other fit friends with mods

 

Graduated high school there in '83... my dad was stationed at Ft. Sam Houston. I went to Churchill and hated it because it was so much less integrated than the on-base schools I grew up going to. San Antonio was nice back then, we lived in a newer neighborhood with lots of woods & trails nearby. It gotten so massive since then that I get lost nowadays.

Most fun in San Antonio, though - going to the Blossom Athletic Center parking lot when they had Autocrossing going on!

What's up Austin! Just found this posting and wanted to say hi. I have a white 2009 GE8 with sportlines, a progress rear sway bar, and stock steel wheels. I live north off steck and mopac and drive dntn to 6th street everyday for work. Never been to a parking lot gathering before, but I have been taking my fit down to Harris Hill in San Marcos to compete in their hillariously fun gymkhana races. I even managed to talk another buddy with a fit to join me last time. Maybe next time we can all go and take over!

Anyway, I'm 35, and stay up all night long. So I guess I fit right in between you guys. I'll try to stay in touch and keep my eyes open around town for you.

Right on! Everyone eventually found the thread. If I get motivated, I'll send you all a group PM about a meet, or inform you of a related one (like meeting up with the civic folks.) Feel free to do the same if anything come up. I've been down to H2R and Bo took me for a lap in his 335i. Fun elevation changes they got going on out there!

I've seen a white GE with rims and an RS sticker hanging around E. 7th st. almost daily. Looks like that's where they work. Is it anyone on here?

 

White GD on the highway yesterday, 290 westbound, like they were coming from Houston, or the airport. Lowered, rims, etc. Only the second or third modified GD I've ever seen on the road here.

 

i drive a ssm gd. i go to austin frequently so if you ever see me, i might be near west campus visiting a lady friend haha
btw, my car is pretty modded, so i'm sure my car will be set apart from the crowd
