brake fluid ?

Hi All,
newbie here:
I just bought Prestone synthetic brake fluid for my 08 Fit. Is this compatible w/ the Honda?
or should I just drive 30+ miles and get Honda brake fluid?
thanks,
Michel

DOT3 is specified in my 2013 and very likely prevails in your 2008.

I think that DOT3 and DOT4 are compatible with each other, but if you bought DOT5, it's not compatible and I wouldn't use it. Rather than describing what you bought as synthetic, look at the container to see which DOT formulation you bought. That'll tell the story.

Okay, good. Assuming that DOT3 has been used previously in the car (and it probably has), you'll have a perfect no-worry match.
