Weird rotor wear.

Does anyone know what could cause wear like this on an 07 Fit? The outside is fairly normal, or at least the pad engages the width of the rotor, but the inside is a different story. In the middle of the inside of the rotor the pad engages the rotor, but for approximately 1/2 inch on either side of that the surface is raised due to rust and maybe something else.

We bought the car from CarMax 3 years ago. Maybe they had it for a year on their lot and the rotors got rusted, but why only on one side? You can also see that the inside pad is very curved, causing the wear on the rotor. I'm pretty sure CarMax put a new set of pads the car before we bought it. I wouldn't think that they would leave an already damaged rotor on the car.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I have pictures to attach, but must not have the rights to do so. I will post this and try to attach them soon.
