Sweet Mary, t-bone. I've been to two ND games this year (Georgia Tech and Michigan) and I have been instructed by Weis himself not to attend any others. Hope the Irish fare better with you in attendance than they have with me, but I wouldn't count on it. It's a rough year to be a fan (and it's no easier being an alumnus).

This weekend would be fine with me...just need to know when and where. Preliminary weather forecasts aren't great, but that may change.

Damn it. Y'know, guys...there really aren't THAT many of us. Why is this so hard to get together?

I'm about point-five from just getting a case of Rolling Rock, buying some burgers, bratwurst, and hot dogs, and posting up my address for a "get to know folks" get-together to see who shows up. I'm thinking of dropping my Fit on Eibachs and could probably use a hand.

Yes, we know the Fort, Goose.

Heh, I grew up in Monroeville, went to Heritage High School. I'll be up that way November 3rd.

I'm starting to think we need to set up and hype a spring meet down here in Indy. Maybe by then we'll pick up some '08 owners and have more people. Make it a two-day event with mods, food, etc.

So...what about a Fit meet in July? Should be plenty of time to plan for that. Maybe the weekend AFTER July 4th weekend or something?

Not that it has to be a mod meet, mind you...but I'm thinking I'd like to have springs to install by then and the extra hand wouldn't hurt.

Maybe something in Cumberland Park in Fishers, for example. Fairly easy access off of I-69, good sized parking lot with lots of space if there aren't any soccer games going, grills available...even a pavilion if it somehow got big enough (though given recent interest in such things, that's highly doubtful). Just a thought.

Yes, I'm in Fishers. No, it doesn't HAVE to be here. It's just something I've thought about driving by that park routinely.

Are you coming back?

And Fishers is just the north side of Indy, though if you're coming from Bloomington that's not all too convenient. I just remember some folks were coming from Anderson and Muncie (north) so for those vocal people, the north side made more sense.

So something earlier in the year, then. Hrm.

Okay, guys. Kentucky Derby is coming up (that's a horse race, folks). I lived in Louisville for six years and became assimilated. Would anyone want to get together and watch the races?

We need a meet. I'm just trying to come up with excuses to have one.

I agree. this sad. let's meet up and roll our Fits with pride. Also I have a question for, is it just me or do u think some of other Fit drivers not very friendly. I always wave or flash my lights at other Fit drivers and I get no response. its sad were supposted to be the Fit Family. you agree? like I said before, let's meet up and rock our Fits together.
Im up in Carmel so let's meet up and rock the fits together. hit me up on a private message or something. not sure if my reply got edited and posted. My bad if it gets posted 2 times. I'm on my cell.

Lightbulb Thoughts on Indiana Meets - Area Representatives

We've lost a couple active people chatting back to everyone (including me ). Maybe a poll on how much chatter members want would help people understand that they are being heard and appreciated for their posts.

Lots of midwest folks don't mod the fit and hesitate to meet thinking they'll be out of place - which is not true.

The successful meets tend to be planned and executed by a few people committed to showing up - then inviting everyone and being happy to have them show up.

I also think we need to recruit members. Maybe just a small flier or business card to hand out that says "fitfreak is great and here's how to get to the upper-mid-west-community"

It would be great to have "area representatives" that help coordinate different parts of Indy! If we had 5 reps with at least 3 committed to showing up to every Indy event- wow. Of course all 5 would need to encourage and remind their constituents to a) leave a flier when you encounter a fit without the fitfreaks decal b) attend events and c) ask for directions and clarification as needed.

Other areas might have one per town or county depending on size. If we get some serious participation - we could justify a separate thread for Indiana or even 2 or 3 Indiana areas.

- maybe just dreaming but I keep seeing interest out here. Contribute or PM. If there is interest, we'll roll this into a separate thread and take action!
