Bike on a Fit?

What trunk mount racks have you used? Do you like them or not? What kind of bikes do you put on the racks?

I can put bikes into the fit fairly easily... as for a trunk/hatch mount, I have no idea what the brand is, but I've got one from 10 years ago that I use on occasion if I need my back seat. Current bike is an older magna 10 speed, no suspension. Going to make it into a hybrid road bike soon so I can ride it around farther with more ease.

Bike in a Fit is no problem, and when I left home two weeks ago, there was a bike in the Fit. Now I need to return home with two bikes and all the gear my daughter brought to California for the summer. The gear or one bike will fit inside. If I had known I would be here doing this, I would have brought my Hollywood Baja with me. I can't find one here, so I am wondering what else might work.

Anyone have any fear about using one of these trunk mounted ones with the sport fit (with the rear spoiler)?

I have one I'd like to use rather than spend the money to buy another one...

This is what a Hollywood Baja 3 looks like on a 2008 Fit sport, from my vacation two years ago. I mount the rack high enough that the top strap just touches the spoiler, so I put fleece sleeves which I made out of scrap fleece around those straps. The side straps also touch the paint, so I made sleeves for them too. Old socks should work instead of the fleece.
or go here?

Stealth 4 bike rack

I have a Stealth 4 bike rack that I've used on an old Mercury Sable sedan, a Mazda Tribute and now on my 2010 Fit Sport. It's an amazing rack, fits the Fit fine and is on and off in seconds. I've had up to four bikes on it, and also my Rans V-Rex recumbent fits on the rack. I used to worry about it but I've logged too many trouble free miles to even think about it back there. The straps don't interfere with the spoiler in any significant way.

Nice rack, do they sell them in the US or just in Canada? I need one in California this week.

Or you could just buy that truck and drop the bike in the back.

CaliGirl, I bought mine (where I live) in Parma, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. I suppose a quick look at bike shops around Calif would turn one up. They're widely advertised on the Web. Amazon (no endorsement) has them listed, and you could probably get overnite shipping for a small upcharge.
