Oh, I forgot you parted out a while back. Anyway, if you're up for a drive on the 18th there will be a gymkhana event in Angleton. For 30 bucks you get 10 timed runs and after everyone does their 10 you can get more seat time during fun runs.
Me welding...that'd be an awesome site.

I wish, Kelso...it'd be awesome but I'm more like this
around things that shoot flames...whereas I can see you more like this
and
I've never tracked before, do you have to have experience?
The event is at Angleton Raceway, there is a thread in the Texas subforum highlighting the tech requirements and course layout. I've been to a couple of events, but have not participated...yet. Saving up for stuff; however, there is a member here that does run there frequently. Also, you do not need any prior track experience.
Welding is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, you should try it out sometime.
End up laying down something like this...

Agreed, a good welder can get 32 puddles in one inch of a bead.
In the pic above, I was having an off day while shielded metal arc welding. I couldn't get my speed right with my heat setting that day, so I would either end up going too fast and not tuck the toes of the puddles or end up going all crooked and not stack the puddles as close as usual. So I got a case of the F-its and welded the word "taco" to vent.

I believe me, I want to run. The things that are stopping me are that I want to have another set of tires for this (I still have my stockers), I will not allow me to run in the events, and I'm trying to save up a good bit of cash for stuff.
