I'm sure he wouldn't mind if another FFer or two joined but I'd chime in on the Texas thread first to see if its cool. lol
I normally buy 10 or 12 dozen tamales before Christmas - former yard guy's wife makes them. Somehow he lost my number and I forgot to call him...

I called him yesterday and he said they will try to make some more...There is NOTHING like a fresh hot tamale right out of the wrapper....OM NOM NOM...My kids and I go through 2 dozen the second we get them....

Hubby doesn't care for them very much and I am GLAD about that...more for us!

Glad you had a good time with "Backwoods!"

Just paid a speeding ticket. GAY.

Only my 2nd ticket ever. First one 3 years ago I deserved. This last one was bogus. I was doing the speedlimit, maybe 1-2 over. MAYBE. Cop was driving, coming from the other direction, and said I was doing 9 over in a 35. Bull. But, my word against a cop's. What are you gonna do.

Yep sounds bogus all right. But yeah, it's not worth trying to fight it. Do you have to do defensive driving? I did, but I was speeding in a school zone.

No it was normal driving circumstances. Just a ticket. Im taking the online driving course thing to keep the points off my license though.

I think catching people speeding, unless its more than 10mph over (10+ is excessive) is a waste of time. Me doing 5 over is NEVER going to cause an accident. Cops should focus on catching the people who suck at driving and who are dangerous. Weaving in-and-out of lanes, not using signals, tail-gating, driving aggressively. etc. I almost got in multiple wrecks last week because of jack-asses who are oblivious to other drivers on the road. How come those morons never get pulled over? No... little old me, good driver, gets raped in the wallet because Im going like 5 mph over the speed limit. Our local cops are a joke.

I swear, just because I have a lowered car with orange wheels I MUST be fucking street racer...which means I MUST be fucking racing at like 100mph.

/end rant.

I know, right?

Houston is the WORST place for driving...The freeways are insane, drivers cutting you off, not letting you merge into the lane, and the newest dangerous screw up - people get on the on-ramp to a freeway and SLOW DOWN....WTF is THAT about....So you are going to try and merge into traffic doing 65-75 mph at 40 mph??? Not gonna happen...meanwhile I am trapped behind the assholes and can't speed up! If it's one of those very short on-ramps someone could be killed...there would be nowhere to go.

Because there aren't enough cops any more, no one EVER gets pulled over for traffic violations except MAYBE speeding and even that doesn't happen often.

Random thought: Out in the barn I have approximately 1 quart of Mobil 1 5w-20 that has been sitting in its container about 3 or 4 months. Right now, I'm craving some fried freshly catfish right now and don't have enough veggie oil in the house.... that 5w-20 is looking soo good right about now.
