Back Support

I've had my '13 for 17 months, and the support is already gone from the OEM seats. What do you guys recommend that is cheap and easy? I'd even consider wearing a belt of some kind, like weightlifters use.

Meanwhile, it's back to the chiropractor.

Try titling the seat back a bit & see if that helps your back. I had the same problem with my 13 Fit (I think a lot of people do, cuz seats have poor lumbar support). My chiropractor told me to stuff a towel into a tube sock, and put that where your butt sits, plus lower the seat back. I experimented with that and have a setting that works. I love my Fit, hate the seats.

I put one of these in my car. Works great. Costs ~$2 at Fry's. I can now drive long distances without my back hurting.

Kered, are you talking about Fry's Market (Krogers)? I live in Phoenix, & we have both Fry's Market and Fry's Electronics (not related to Mkt). Just curious. Thanks!

Adjust the seat back. Will do.

The towel in a tube sock would be a start, but I was thinking more along the lines of a pillow of some sort.

More to do.

One guy at work opened up the seatback and added extra foam for more lumbar support in the drivers seat for his brothers' 15 Fit.
I did the same for my 12 Civic.

You can find a pair of zippers under the seat that will allow you to open up the back panel of the seatback cover, then you can investigate on your own from there.
You may need to unbolt the seat from the floor of the car to find the zippers.

Thanks, all.

Still in pain. Still going to the chiropractor. Still thinking about (but not doing anything about) something for lumbar support. Just been a busy time, but I must get to it.

I love driving and I love my Fit, so staying out of the car is not an option. Then, there's that getting-to-work thing . . . .

There are car customizing joints that install adjustable lumbar supports. A woman I know had that done.

I find the 2013 Fit front seats to be really good. I don't have any lumbar issues from them and have had a few long trips (7 hrs).
I'm 29, 5ft-10 and about 220 lbs, so on the heavier side.

My old car, a '98 Chrysler Intrepid had crappy seats. Not sure if it was due to the age of the car & seats, but my back hurt on longer trips. I had one of those cheap back supports that kered424 recommended. It definitely worked, but it was annoying since had to adjust it every time I sat in the car.
Also great in the summer as it allows for some air at your back.

I'm sure a stuffed sock or pillow will need even more adjusting that the cheap back support.

I would always get lower back stiffness from my fit,
tried using a cushion which worked okay except it would always get sweaty.

Ended up getting a massage ball similar to this one

https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tec-Athle.../dp/B00JPOWVNG

I just put it between the seat and my lower back and roll it around occasionally.
Works fine, its cheap and it fits in a cup holder when im not using it

and if you dont like it then it would still make a good dog toy
