warranty on clutch?

this can probably be answer in the driver's manual..but does warranty cover the clutch on a brand new car?

the reason im asking, is what if a person doesnt know how to drive stick and this is their first stick car and ruins the clutch....is there a way for them to tell if its "abused from learning" or just normal wear and tear?

btw, i know how to drive stick...but i was curious on this warranty thing because just in case the clutch do crap out on me, the dealer won't try to tell me that i was "learning stick" on the car.

I say if you bring in a new car with a toasted clutch they're gonna be suspicious.

The clutch is a wearable part of the car. Kind of like the tires.... It wont be covered under warranty if something happens to it, because warranties dont cover normal wear and tear...

what about the transmission, the gears themselves?

The transmission is part of the powertrain warranty, HOWEVER if the gears messed up due to the grinding of gears etc then it will NOT be covered.

They drain the transmission fluid and look for chunks of metal and syncro.

you might get certain dealers to cover more than others ,but usually they look for signs of abuse, some will look for any little reason not to cover something

I think you'd have to try real hard to ruin a clutch or especially the transmission learning to drive stick.

Most manufacturers I have checked with, (I always have manual tranny's) cover the clutch for 6 months or 12,000 miles. (except Kia, they don't cover them at all, no matter what the warranty says) Honda may be different, but it's in the fine print.
