Drivers door lock actuator replacement 2010 Fit Base
When locking the car from the outside with the key, or using the switch inside, or operating the lock itself at the inside handle, or passing 10mph, we are treated to a very loud and shocking buzz from the actuator in the driver's door. This started about a week ago. The doors still lock/unlock and except for the noise, nothing else seems wrong.
My understanding is I need part 72150TK6A02 which is about $160 (best price I've seen so far is $158 plus shipping).
Has anyone done this replacement and can share any tips? I can easily get the door panel off and can tell that the actuator is definitely the culprit. I believe that I will also need to unbolt the window channel to actually remove the actuator. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, particularly if there are any gotcha's when reconnecting the actuator arms.
I intend to also purchase the key fob to go to keyless entry once this is fixed.
Thanks!
Ed
