Or get some 3M Adhesive Remover or similar Xylene-based solvent. That will take it right off. I keep a can handy for these kinds of stubborn adhesive issues. I also used to use it to completely strip a car of all waxes, sealants and oils. Body shops use it to prep the surface for a fresh coat of paint.
