The Best Buy's of the world is a cooler place to shop in a lot of cases. But that money goes to shareholders. It's the smaller shops that are more in tune with today's technology changes (at least in most markets). They don't have the publicly traded dollars from shareholders to do crazy things with their stores and offer give-away prices. They have to service the customer after the sale. The product may be the same between MoM and PoP's Car Stereo and Amazon, but the product has a tail, and the M&P are there to do what they have to if the tail comes back. If we don't support small independent businesses, it doesn't matter what the industry is in, then this country becomes a publicly traded country and the small towns will suffer from limited wages/employment as the profits go to the rich. A small business owner (rich or poor) will spend the money back into the community.
Tell the local dealer that you first became interested in the product on Amazon and that you were encouraged to try and buy it locally. Tell them you would like to give them business and ask them for their best price.
Okay, I'm done now with trying to save the country. Thanks for considering.
