Honda recalls 35,000 subcompact vehicles

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Honda Motor Co said it will recall 35,419 of its Fit subcompact cars to replace defective brake lamp switches.

The cars were made between December 2004 and May 2005 to Japanese specifications and sold at home, a spokesman for the firm said. The recall will not apply to any Fit car sold abroad.

A lubricant had been improperly applied to the switch in the manufacturing process which could prevent the brake lamp from being turned on, the carmaker said in a report to the transport ministry.

There have been 1,917 reports from dealerships about the defect but no accident has resulted, it added.

So far there are no recalls on our USDM models.. except mabye in the future that paint on the bumper problem..

well, my e-brake light keep coming on when my ebrake is down an it make that awful beeping noise. i have to hit the ebrake and it will stop but later-on it would come back on again.
mine came from japan. i have to wait till monday to take it in. it started happen this morning.

Mine is japan made also.. no problem like that although my sister's Civic EX has that exact problem..

my integra and civic do that when the brake fluid is low.

Recalls are for safety issues, there will be no paint recall. There may be a bulletin issued and a warranty extension for paint, but there will be no recall.

All fits are made in Japan. This article is referring to Fits that are made for the Japanese Market and not exported. Geez.

Not so Hirokoson - Fit's (Jazzes) are made all over the world - including Brazil and China - Only NA Fit model is exclusive to Japanese production...

well, i have an appt. on wednesday @11am so, they said itmight be the ebrake sensor. they need to tweat it. but the ebrake is lose as hell. A simple touch or jerk and it start going off. toobad i can't show video/pic both cam and phone are broken.
