Power window to manual conversion?

Did any GD3s come with manual windows? My cabin fuses for all windows are not getting power but the hood fuse box is. No one wants to work on this and the dealer wants $1400. Is it possible to convert?

I guess so ... if you’re handy with gears and stuff. It doesn’t sound like a ton of fun

First step: take off the door panels and see what’s inside. Figure out where you want to mount your crank and how you’ll gear it. If that part of the project doesn’t sound like the thing for you, don’t go any further :P

Edit: gd fits have cable regulators. It will be very hard to mount a crank.

This type of idea?
Well I've seen people do amazing things. If you're clever enough and have enough time, materials, you can do just about anything.
BUT...
This isn't something common. I've actually never seen that anybody has EVER done this.
Usually when people are modifying, they are going forward in technology not backwards.

My only question would be instead of the challenge of totally redesigning the system to become a manual cranked window, wouldn't it be simpler to put the same effort into trying to fix the system as it is, yourself?

Power windows

I would not even consider going down this route. This will be a massive amount of work for no real gain. If all 4 windows are not working then there is a fair chance the 40amp fuse in the engine bay is burnt out. If this is the case before putting a new 40amp fuse in. Remove all the separate fuses for the power windows. Insert 40 amp fuse. Now insert front driver windows fuse, press button to operate window if this works insert fuse for front passenger window fuse and try window. Follow above for the back windows. The idea of this is to identify which windows is causing the main fuse to blow. Once this is identified the circuit, it can be
either isolated or marked for further examination.
