07 Honda Fit Sport- PO301 trouble code, misfire cylinder 1...need help...
The term coil pack comes from the past when many cars had a single part that provided spark to multiple cylinders. What we have is actually just called an ignition coil and there are 4 of them.
Here's a coil pack for reference -
I have a 2007 Fit Sport Auto. In 2013 the car starting running poorly, then suddenly went into limp mode on and off (on the way to the airport no less). I had the same code pop.
I replaced all 4 spark plugs with DENSO 5310 IK22 Iridium - recommended by some tuner and people here to make a little more power. The car still has no trouble starting in cold weather, and no other noticeable negatives. I think it ran smoother after.
and all 4 coil packs with:
Hitachi IGC0053
I am pretty sure the coil packs on our 2007 had a high defect rate. It fixed the problem, and also the car definitely runs smoother and probably has a touch more power. At your mileage, I'd definitely replace the plugs while you are in there replace the coil packs as they are in the same spot. Also you are supposed to put a little dialetric grease on the coil pack rubber boot. The whole thing took about an hour, the only technical part is getting the new plugs in right without over torquing them. The coil pack swap is easy.
