GD3 Steering Wheel Controls & AUX on Aftermarket Head Unit
Hi all,
First time posting on this forum before but been driving a Honda Jazz GD3 since 2007!
I'm looking to replace the stock head unit with an aftermarket one and have some questions about retaining the steering wheel controls and the AUX jack.
Looking at the connector diagram, it looks like the connectors from left to right are (antenna (circle one), AUX, steering wheel controls, power/speakers connector).
According to Sony's website, Cavity 3 of the connector should provide the connection with the steering wheel control. But looking at the diagram on Audio Unit Connector Replacement, it looks like the main head unit connector doesn't have anything on Cavity 3.
So I'm not assuming that the 3rd connector from the left is actually its own connection for the steering wheel control.
Could someone with experience with this confirm if it's true? If it is, how would you go about to retaining the steering wheel control on the after-market head unit? I'd like to do the same with the AUX connector too so I can retain the original AUX jack.
