CDV delete question
CDV delete question
Have a 2007 with manual transmission and just did the CDV (ClutchDelayValve) delete. Went with SS braided line from MC to bracket on transmission where it attaches to stock hard tubing to Slave. I followed to the letter the guidelines in this forum from other threads, using parts as done, and specified, by other contributing members..
It went as advertised, and true...there is a much more positive feel as to where the clutch bites, and better control, feeling more like a cable operation.
.....however, what I don't like is the sensation of vibration I get thru the pedal at 3K or 4K rpms. This translates to shifting into 3rd and 4th. Is almost like a tingle on the foot when depressing clutch pedal for those gears.. The SS braided line is not touching anything, or close. Is 18 inches and goes in the air from MC straight to bracket so is not rattling against anything.
I wonder if others, having done this mode, felt same thing but didn't care.
I wonder if it is vibration from engine transmitted thru the SS braided line or thru the fluid from the clutch itself.
I even wonder if the CDV is to damp this 'vibration' feel, at the expense of vagueness, instead of 'delaying' clutch action to safeguard the driveline from driver error, as commonly believed. Honda calls it a "Damper"
Thanks from any opinion on this matter.

Thanks, but it was not doing it before I removed the damper.(CDV), or at least did not feel anything like that.
Thanks everybody. Appreciate your answers. Apparently is just me, or my car. Am just trying to find if there is any other reason before installing back the CDV. I'd rather have the vagueness, but not the feel of vibration.

You only need to get the EM2 (2001 civic) clutch master cylinder and maybe a drill with a ½" drill to enlarge the 2 holes....
Below is a picture of parts I used, however, am planning on going back to original hard line from Master Cylinder, and then use a DORMAN H381618 for Honda Civic 2005 to connect Master hard line to engine bracket and and hard line to Slave. This is m12 x 1 female to M10 x 1 female, rubber 'braided", and believe will eliminate or reduce the tingles. I will have to fabricate my own bracket for the fender, and I will be using the Honda clips, as in the engine bracket on Slave Cylinder to fasten the line to said fender bracket. Thus basically will have about same setup as factory, minus the CDV.
