Busted oil pan

Busted oil pan

SO i hit a concrete culvert today in a dirt parking lot that i couldnt see (2008 honda fit sport /automatic).It looks like im gonna have to put a new oil pan on it because i had a trail of oil after wards and had to get towed home .IS there anything i should know about replacing the oil pan (what kind of gasket if any /sealant )do i need?I crawled under it while ago and looks like the only thing in the way is the ac compressor .HAs anybody done this job yet and can shed some light on it /tips?ANy help is appreciated.

thank you so much for all the efforts,we got the pan dropped yesterday and all these diagrams never mention that the ac compressor is actually mounted to the oil pan (u have to unbolt the alternator because the alterbator is the tensioner to remove the compressor),and also more things have to be removed one thing was the transmission shift linkage

You're welcome.

Agreed it's strange, for some reason the Honda service manual sometimes glosses over other ancillary things that also need to be removed to perform an R/R of a part. The torque spec for the A/C bolts is 16 ft/lbs. I can post more pages of the manual if you need more info.

are these torque specs compatable with 2008 (gen 1)?

My manual is for a 2007 Fit but since they are the same generation with no significant changes I'd think they should be the same.
