2008 Fit Remote - Can these be reset after the battery dies?
Our 2008 Base Fit came with 2 remotes when new OEM # 08E61-S5D-1MO-01). One fell in a puddle - it's completely dead. The other later acted like the battery died, slowly going from fully functioning to not working at all.
I replaced the battery, and see the red light illuminate when pushing buttons. Can this be somehow reprogrammed or re-paired with the car without going to the dealer and paying them $85 in the hope the remote is not defective? If it is defective, they charge $127 for anew factory remote. Already bought one new one, but don't wish to be out another $200 for a backup remote on a nearly 15 year old car if it can be avoided.
Thank you for your ideas!
