Which brakes to choose if I'm curious about high performance brakes but. . .

... my Fit may be in its last year.

I have a 2007 at 250k miles/ 405k kms which is just my daily driver but I always thought I'd like to try performance upgrades.

This car is probably in its last year but I was on Rock auto because it needs front pads and rotors and I saw all the parts options and thought... maybe it would be fun to get some great brakes, and get a little taste of upgrades in case I get a another gen 1 or a gen 2 Fit, which is a possibility in the future.

I don't want to spend a lot or get into something that needs different Calipers I don't think.

But I'm seeing lots of pads or rotors that are just $25 more so I thought -- why not.

Any recommendations?

Equally, if I decide to forget about an upgrade (which is possible) which brand of pads and rotors should I buy for just normal brakes for Gen 1 Fit? TOO many options and I know nothing.

Thanks!

Give me a brake ;)

I have a 07 Fit as well and one of the first things I did over 10 years ago was change my front rotors. I changed them to slotted and changed the pads to performance pads. I did this because my brakes were heating up pretty bad driving the mountain roads in the area I live. I found a noticeable difference in my braking. Recently "due to boredom" I changed the rear drums to disc, there is a how-to on FitFreak. I bought the bracket on ebay and the rotors from rockauto. I bought the rotors for a 99 integra and I went to a wrecking yard and got rear Calipers off of a 99 integra. I got the parking brake cable off of a 89 acura legend. It was tedious to get the job done but I am thrilled with the results. I feel like my FIT can stop on a dime.
