i could be wrong but i don't remember reading any GD owners making personal attacks to GE owners

people who can't take other people calling their cars ugly have more problems than an ugly car.

ANYONE (a million reps or not), stating comments on the physical looks of ANY car is ONLY stating an opinion. not a fact.

some gd3 owners act like the gd3 is an effing ferrari...it will always be kinda funky looking to about 98% of everyone else in the automotive world.


gd3 cult status? i'll believe that when EVERY gd3 driver gives acknowledgement to another gd3 driver for a good taste in cars.

you don't have to mod something to get props, or respect much less. geez, its like kindergarden in here.

SOME gd3 owners think the ge8 is ugly hence why all the harsh criticism.

no...because it either happened in another thread, or it was simply because ge8 guys had no reason to be pissed off until gd3 owners marched off into a false sense of elitism.

 

I was gonna say something along those lines earlier... Anyone who's owned a GD3, especially those who owned one in the first year of production will know well and good a good majority of people out there think the GD3s look ugly and goofy as well. How something looks is all relative to the person who is doing the looking.

considering you were responding to a pretty harmless post, and the fact that it correlates with all the other posts you have made, it seemed pretty factual.

bottom line is, everyone is not going to like everything. if youre gunna get all touchy when a gd owner says they dont like your ge, then you need to not post it for all to see, because that IS the point of a forum.

I love all Fits They are both great cars, each diffrent yet VERY THE SAME! Lets all just get along and co-exist happily together, to keep FitFreak the wonderful, good spirited, forum that it is. If not, it will turn into just another car forum.

i guess the issue is your wording is contradictory, even though i know what you are trying to say.


i understand some people can be too touchy, but at the same time, how would you feel if you were on the recieving end of it? i'm just saying pay it forward. while some people won't like it, the bottom line is that people are posting pics because they are proud and WANT people to see what they have done, and like it too.

for example, you have a base fit right? how often would you post if everyone, or at least most people, ripped you on the fact that they personally think its dumb to have bought a base fit, only to spend extra money on the body kit, when you could have just despoilered a sport?

i'm sure that wouldn't make you want to post very often, and i wouldn't blame you. but obviously, the reaction has not been anywhere along those lines, and i personally have never been under THAT much scrutiny, so i guess neither one of us will really know what its like from that perspective in that regard.


and obviously, everyone is entitled to their opinion. but when its well known how you feel about something (i belive f****** fail was one of the more colorful descriptors you used?), i just think some forum members can chill out and get over it.

honestly, i dont give a crap if people wanted to hate that i had a base. i bought my car because I wanted it. I didnt like the spoiler. I didnt like foglights. I didnt like alot of things on the car, and while buying the base is the more unpopular choice on the forum, it wouldnt and obviously doesnt make me not want to post. people tell me all the time the sport looks ncier, but it doesnt make me any less proud.

everyone has the same right to be proud of their car, and im not saying they cant be. im saying that if you post your car, its just makes sense that not everyone is going to hold the same view as yourself, and you should be aware that some people will disagree in your choices.

the new people cant get all touchy about it. the car was redeisnged. while it holds the same name, its practically a brand new car to most of us.

im not a fan of the outside. period. im hoping someone can get the usdm modded nicely. im not going to discriminate and not associate myself with them, as i dont think anyone on this forum will be. when i go to a meet, ill be mroe then happy to introduce myself and hear as much about the car as someone wants to tell me, i wont be ignorant to it, but that wont change the fact that i dont like it much.
