Consumer Reports Annual Car Issue has a Fit
on the front, and of course they highly recommend it. That's the 3rd or 4th time this year that they have mentioned the Fit. If anyone had money to buy cars they'd be disappearing like the last of the '08s did.
Of course the Insight is ready to roll out, too, so...the Fit might not be everyone's first choice from here on out.
Just thought I'd let y'all know.

CR started the stampede to the Fit after gas prices went so high.

My other car is a Yukon XL, which was worthless when gas was $4/gal. It was cheaper for me to get the Fit, and park the Yukon. I'm sure gas will go back before too long so I'm still very happy to have bought the Fit. Bet you're glad you didn't get the Forerunner.

Actually it was a Rav4 I was looking at, so I corrected my post. But yeah, I am very glad I didn't get the Rav4. It was so cheapy inside and about 10K more than the Fit. Yes the ride was smoother, big whoop. I have always had a problem with Honda road noise, but with this car, I got what I paid for, it's an econobox, but it's also fun, friendly, and mod-able. The noise is the noise. it has enough going for it that I don't care so much. For 25K, I'd care more. I got a great deal and a great car!
Yeah, $8/gal gas is coming, just hang on until Obama's policies get fully implemented. And because no drilling, we will be even more dependent on Saudi oil. Yea!

I don't think the insight will affect the fits sales that much cause the fit is cheaper. Hybrids are just too damn expensive and not worth it at all if you consider burning more gas vs environmental damage manufacturing those batteries.
I got my fit over anything else because it was spacious enough for my large self and felt great to drive (miss the feel of my prelude a bit but oh well). I also didn't feel the urge to speed as much. It was also better looking than any other new car out there (I have to admit, I wanted a first gen xB way more than a fit and still kinda do sometimes, but they phased out that model like a bunch of fools!)

-...I considered the room issue. I bought the Fit because of the user friendly cabin too (although I could use a bit more leg room). The new Insight is considerably smaller inside than the Fit, which is a no-can-do for me and 2 dogs.
-Agreed - the 1st XBoxes looked waaaaaay better than the Pacifica version they offer now. What were they thinking??
). I bought a new Integra when they 1st came out. I sold it 2 years later for more than I paid for it! I'm sure once gas jumps again I could sell the Fit for a good (for me) price too. Not gonna happen tho - like it too much!

aww its not that annoying, It even works with my enkeis just fine and was free to swap from one rim to the other.

The new Fit is probably a better sedan all around, but moddable? I doubt it.
That makes sense. The Fits were very hard to come by when I got mine. I had a request in at a dealer for a month and they called me when they got 2 in - a Red std and a grey Sport. I hadn't even sat in a Fit. One drive was all it took. I bought the grey Sport. They even knocked $600 off the list because the 09s were on their way in, which they expected to get list or more on. In fact, I got the last of two 08s at that dealership. I was pleased to see the identical car at another dealership for $2k over list a week later.
